Kristen Michaelson

Biography

 Kristen obtained the Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin in 2024, the M.S.E. degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin in 2020, and the B.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Brown University in 2016.

Kristen's primary research topic is nonlinear estimation theory. Her dissertation includes contributions to state estimation in nonlinear systems, particle filtering, and ensemble filtering. She is interested in applications to navigation and tracking for space systems. Kristen has also published works on terrain-relative navigation and robotics.
